May 26, 2010

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of SphinxConnector.NET 2.0.

Highlights

Full SphinxQL Support

SphinxConnector.NET 2.0 introduces support for SphinxQL which enables developers to take advantage of the new real-time index type that was introduced with Sphinx 1.10.1. It also supports selecting data from any index type via the SphinxQLDataReader and SphinxQLDataAdapter classes. Additionally, SphinxConnector.NET 2.0 supports SphinxQL transactions, passing parameters to SphinxQL command objects and provides a connection pool for SphinxQL connections.

New Logging and Tracing Capabilities

SphinxConnector.NET 2.0 also comes with a new logging and tracing infrastructure that enables developers to output different types of log messages in order to help them identify problems or optimize their setup. Based on the Common.Logging library, the new logging infrastructure will integrate with the most popular .NET logging frameworks such as NLog, log4net or the Microsoft Enterprise Library.

A complete list of changes is available in the version history.

Upgrading from 1.x

SphinxConnector.NET is a free upgrade for existing customers. License keys for 1.x will continue to work with 2.0.
